Lou Van Driessche
Biography
Lou Van Driessche obtained a Master’s degree in Experimental Psychology in 2023 and a Master’s degree in Communication Sciences, specializing in Communication Management in 2025. For her first master’s thesis, she studied how adolescents’ online and offline needs affect their mental health. In her second thesis, she investigated the educational potential of kidfluencer content.
During her first master, Lou completed a six-month research internship in Karolinska Institute in Sweden, where she worked on a large-scale study examining the effects of sleep loss. During her second master she did a nine-week research internship at CEPEC, where she contributed to the SUNRISE project on cancer prevention.
Since October 2025, Lou has been working as a PhD researcher at the Department of Communication Sciences, within the CEPEC research group. Her doctoral project is part of the Kidfluencer project and focuses on examining the educational value of kidfluencer content, through the use of content analysis.
