Sarie De Graeve
Biography
Sarie De Graeve obtained a Master’s degree in Gender and Diversity in 2023 and a Master’s degree in Moral Sciences in 2024. For her first thesis she investigated how feminist magazines of the early 20th century communicated about street protests, and for the second one interviews were conducted with fathers who had renewed their fatherhood after the age of 40. Throughout her studies and theses she developed an interest in conducting qualitative research.
Since October 2024, Sarie has been working as a researcher in the GAMSPON-project, an interdisciplinary project on gambling sponsorships, prevalence and normalization. In her first study within this project she has interviewed adolescents to figure out how these sponsorships may play a part in gambling normalization processes of adolescents (16-18 years old). In the second study she is conducting qualitative research with professional stakeholders, people with gambling experience and academics to understand where the current ban on gambling advertising falls short and to formulate policy guidelines that can accommodate these needs.
