Sarie De Graeve

Biography

Sarie De Graeve obtained a Master’s degree in Gender and Diversity in 2023 and a Master’s degree in Moral Sciences in 2024. In October 2024, Sarie started working as a qualitative researcher in the GAMSPON-project, an interdisciplinary project on gambling sponsorships, prevalence and normalization. Within this project she researched adolescent gambling normalization and contributed to a study on gambling advertising policy recommendations.

In November 2025, Sarie started her FWO PhD fellowship to pursue a four-year research project exploring the role of communication in the normalization of unhealthy commodities among adolescents. Through qualitative methods, the project aims to develop a grounded theoretical framework that sheds light on how different types of communication influence young people's perceptions of unhealthy behavior.
