Agnes Meeuwis graduated in 2024 as a Communication Scientist with specialization in Film and Television studies at Ghent University. Her master’s thesis presented a qualitative study on the discourses on humorous messages in the editorial process of the Flemish television show Taboe. In 2025, she joined the Centre for Cinema and Media Studies (CIMS) as a doctoral researcher under supervision of Prof. Dr. Frederik Dhaenens and Prof. Dr. Sofie Van Bauwel. Her research revolves around the negotiation of identity politics at European Film Festivals.
