Nikitas Fessas is currently finishing his PhD in Communication Science (focused on film), under the supervision of Daniel Biltereyst. His research focuses on gender and sexuality in Greek film noir of the 1950s and 1960s. He has published numerous cultural criticism texts and philosophical essays in both Greek and foreign media, as well as reviews and academic articles in peer-reviewed journals. He regularly writes film reviews for the Greek news site Nostimon Imar. He is also a reviewer for the Journal of Research in Gender Studies. Slavoj Žižek mentions him in his book Less than Nothing: Hegel and the Shadow of Dialectical Materialism.
