Gilles Rouvroy

Gilles Rouvroy obtained his master of laws (magna cum laude) in 2020 at Ghent University. Previously, he obtained a master of science in criminology (Ghent University). As of 2021, Gilles is active as an academic assistant and provides educational support for the courses 'algemene rechtsleer', 'rechtsvinding' and 'onderzoeksmethoden'.

His research entails a sociological study on the influence of legal doctrine on private law (focusing on punitive elements in the law of obligations, in particular penalty clauses and refusal of restitution). In this way, he combines social and scientific research methods with a positive law theme.

Gilles is also an attorney at the Dutch Brussels Bar, where he mainly operates on contract law and liability law.
