Credit certificate
After the conclusion of the examination period, you can get a credit certificate for each course for which you obtained minimum 10 out of 20 or a 'passed' designation.
This registration contains information about your identity, study programme, course unit, number of credits obtained and final evaluation.
You can create and download credit certificates via Oasis for all programmes you were/are enrolled in.
How?
- Go to Oasis and login
- In the left-hand column, under 'General Information', click on 'Credit certificates'
- Select the programme and the academic year and download your credit certificates. Either all of them, or per academic year, or just the courses that are or are not required.
If you no longer have access to Oasis, contact the faculty student administration (FSA) and request the desired credit certificates by e-mail.
Two chances
For each course your have not obtained a credit certificate in the 1st or 2nd examination period, you have the right to retake the examination in the resit examination period.
On the other hand, you cannot retake an examination for a course for which you already obtained a credit certificate.
Not for outgoing exchange students
As an outgoing exchange student, you are entitled to the number of examination opportunities offered by the host institution. An additional examination opportunity at Ghent University is not possible.
Validity
Credit certificates obtained at Ghent University have unlimited validity at Ghent University unless after a minimum of 5 academic years the curriculum committee can demonstrate substantial differences between the competencies acquired by the student according to the credit certificate and the current intended competencies of a course unit. The student must overcome these substantial differences by taking one or more course units in whole or in part.
Did you follow a course at HoGent or HoWest?
Attention: only for academic programmes of HoGent and HoWest which are now integrated in the UGent and not for professional bachelor programmes of HoGent and HoWest.

If you followed a programme or course at HoGent or HoWest between 1995-1996 and 2012-2013 and it is (part of) a programme integrated at Ghent University from 2013-2014, you can request a credit certificate via attestering@ugent.be
