Academic Software

Via Academic Software, all Ghent University students can install a wide range of programs locally or use them online on their personal computers. The intention is that this software platform will eventually replace the offering on Athena.

Installing software

  1. Free software can be downloaded and installed on your computer immediately.
  2. Paid software that you need for your studies can be downloaded and installed on your computer after redeeming a voucher that you will receive from your faculty (in a subsequent phase).
  3. Other paid software can be purchased on your personal budget (at attractive terms) and then downloaded and installed on your computer.

The software platform clearly states the specific installation instructions for each application.
