On the occasion of the exhibition Five artists from the archives and the collection of Jan Hoet the museum Dhondt-Dhaenens is organizing a symposium with Kasper König, Saskia Bos, Paul Robbrecht and Bart Cassiman on Thursday, March 7, 2019 in cooperation with the Ghent University. Prof. Dr. Wouter Davidts moderates the panel discussion in which the guests look back on the years 1986 and 1987, a period in which groundbreaking exhibitions such as Chambres d'Amis, Initiatief '86, Sonsbeek '86 and Skulptur Projekte Münster took place and which count as important moments in the development and the large-scale presentation of contemporary art in Belgium and neighbouring countries.
