Mohamed Abdelrahim

Position: doctoral researcherMohamed Abdelrahim

Biography:

Mohamed completed his BSc. degree in chemistry in 2014 at Zagazig University, Egypt. Later in 2015, he was appointed an assistant teaching and researcher position at the same university. He obtained his MSc. degree in 2019 at Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIAT). His master thesis focused on the oxidative degradation of thermosets based on thioketal cleavable linkages in aqueous environments.

Research project:

Mohamed started his Ph.D. research in 2022 at the Supramolecular Chemistry (SC) group under the supervision of Prof. Richard Hoogenboom. The aim of his research is to prepare energy-dissipating sliding hydrogels based on host-guest interactions. Such mechanically interlocked hydrogels are especially important for biomedical applications.
