Xinran Guan

Biography:

Xinran Guan is a Ph.D. researcher in the Supramolecular Chemistry (SC) group since she obtained her master degree in Organic Chemistry from Nankai University in China. Xinran obtained her scholarship in 2020 and started her research at Ghent University at the end of 2020.

Research project:

Xinran's research project is about supramolecular chemistry, mainly focusing on the pillararenes and cyclo-bis(paraquat)parapheylene. By combining supramolecular macrocylces and polymer chemistry, it is possible to design interesting systems using non-covalent interaction for a wide variety of applications (e.g. thermoresponsive hydrogel).
