Oxidative status of animal samples
Oxidative stress as an imbalance between the production of radical species causing oxidation of macromolecules and reducing compounds affects the production and health of farm and experimental animals. Animal factors and particularly the diet are determining the systemic oxidative status and oxidation in different tissues. Feeding experiments and blood and tissue sampling followed by specific analyses of pro-oxidants, antioxidants and redox couples allow to gain insight into the oxidative status of animals.
