The Laboratory has extensive expertise in marine biology and aquaculture research. 

Its facilities provide access to natural seawater, a diverse collection of microalgae and macroalgae, and a range of invertebrate research models, including multiple copepod species.

LAMBIS offers experimental services and sample analyses to both academic researchers and industry partners, including:

• Culture of live feed such as microalgae and small marine invertebrates, such as copepods
• Proximate analyses and biochemical profiling of marine samples
• Gene expression and (eDNA) metabarcoding analyses
• Ecotoxicity testing within the marine context
• Carbon measurements (organic and inorganic)
• Freeze-drying of samples for analysis
• Physiological assessments (e.g., respiration rate, PAM chlorophyll fluorescence).
