Salvatore Meles

Salvatore Meles is a second-year Master's student in Sustainable and Organic Agriculture at the University of Perugia, within the Department of Agricultural, Food and Environmental Sciences. He is currently carrying out his Erasmus Traineeship at Ghent University, in the Department of Environment of the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering, under the supervision of Professor Abdul Mouazen.
His thesis project focuses on the analysis of nitrogen nutritional status in processing tomato using precision agriculture tools such as the SAP test, SPAD meter, and proximal sensors for measuring vegetation indices like NDVI and NDRE. The main objective is to optimize nitrogen fertilization management and to develop models that enhance the efficiency of precision agriculture in tomato cultivation.
