About

Robert De Wulf is director of FORSIT since 1996, when he took over from em. Prof. Roland Goossens, the founder of the lab.

He is currently in charge of the following courses of the MSc Forest and Nature Management curriculum at Ghent University: Forest Mensuration and Inventory, Forest and Nature Management Planning, and Tropical Forestry. He holds teaching positions (Tropical Forest Management) as a guest professor at the Free University of Brussels (VUB) and the Anton de Kom University of Suriname.

Earlier in his career he was involved in conservation management planning in Indonesia, Vietnam and China with FAO and WWF International.

His current research interests include assessment and planning of tropical forests and agroforests, and quantification of ecosystems services in tropical forested landscapes.

He represents Belgium in the International Council of IUFRO.
