Research focus
Siska Croubels is full professor with a track record in veterinary pharmacology and toxicology, performing (non-)clinical research focusing on ADME characteristics of drugs and contaminants in several animal species and animal models (in vitro, in vivo). She is associate member of the European College of Veterinary Pharmacology and Toxicology (ECVPT), and responsible lecturer for the courses General Pharmacology and Toxicology. The laboratory is recognized for the analysis of small molecules (drugs and (myco)toxins) and phase I and II metabolites in biological matrices (incl. microsamples like dried blood spots), using state-of-the-art (U)HPLC-MS/MS and UHPLC-HRMS instruments. Prof. Croubels co-organizes the international TRACES Conferences on residues of pharmacologically active substances, as part of the One Health concept. The laboratory is member of the MSsmall Centre-of-Expertise for mass spectrometry analysis of small molecules, and was GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) compliant between 2001-2025 for the conduct of pharmacokinetic, bioavailability and bioequivalence studies.
