Objectives
In this hands-on workshop you'll discover how to use generative AI tools for academic writing. We'll begin with an introduction to generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) and Large Language Models (LLMs), to give you a clear understanding of how these models work and what their key strengths and weaknesses are. Next, through a series of practical demonstrations and interactive exercises, you’ll learn how to apply generative AI across the main stages of academic research, from literature review to data analysis, and manuscript drafting and refinement. Finally, we’ll explore strategies to deal with the key challenges of these tools, such as their tendency to generate inaccurate or misleading information, and discuss how to use them responsibly, particularly with confidential data.
