Description

This hands-on course will train doctoral students in applying Research Data Management practices within their own PhD research projects. Guided by the lecturer, participants explore key aspects of RDM, including how to plan, organise, document, store, safeguard, and share research data, in line with FAIR principles. Attendees are encouraged to present their own RDM challenges, share experiences with peers, and reflect on the advantages and limitations of different RDM approaches. Through a series of practical exercises, participants become familiar with best practices and available infrastructure, and develop concrete, reusable RDM outputs—such as data workflows, data overviews, and documentation drafts—that can be directly applied and further developed within their own PhD projects.

Pre-requisites

·        Participants should already have a good understanding or outline of their own PhD research project, although having collected data is not yet required

·        Basic knowledge about research data management is required. For example, participants can follow the self-paced "Fundamentals of RDM" course in advance.
