Freke Caset is part-time postdoctoral assistant at the Department of Mobility and Spatial Planning (Ghent University) and part-time postdoctoral researcher at Cosmopolis Centre for Urban Research (Vrije Universiteit Brussel). Her core interest is socially just transitions towards sustainable urban and mobility systems, with disciplinary grounding in transport geography, urban studies, and urban and regional planning. Currently her work and interests centre around the uneven social effects of purported ‘sustainable’ transport policies and practices, the role of demand-responsive public transport in relation to transport poverty, methods to map ‘lived expertise’ of the mobility needs for and with people in minoritized positions, and the governance of urban experimentation.
