Biography

Henri Arno is a PhD candidate and FWO fellow at Ghent University, affiliated with both the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. His research focuses on causal machine learning and data-driven decision support, with particular interest in treatment effect estimation and policy learning from observational and multimodal data. Previously, he developed proof-of-concept machine learning systems for the early detection of financially distressed firms in collaboration with Belgian commercial courts as part of an interdisciplinary research project.
