Axel Van de Vloet obtained his master's degree in Business Administration (International Business, cum laude) in 2020, at the Catholic University of Leuven. He is currently a PhD candidate, working on debt structures of small - and medium sized businesses under the supervision of Prof. dr. Leentje Moortgat and Prof. dr. Tom Vanacker at Ghent University. Axel's current research is focused on debt specialization in an SME context and how this drives firm performance. Prior to joining the University of Ghent, Axel has worked as a Tax Officer at the Federal Agency of Finance in Belgium.
