Connecting Expertise Events

Objective

At Connecting Expertise Events, experts come together to share complementary knowledge on a interdisciplinary research topic. The focus is on providing tailored information and exchanging best practices on the latest technologies and existing 'know-how'. We believe connecting the right people in the most optimal way, stimulates collaboration and makes our research become more impactful.

For whom?

  • The event is open for all (post)doctoral researchers and ZAP-members from Ghent University, Ghent University Hospital and VIB-UGent departments.
  • Access is free.

Connecting Expertise Event on 'Health & Tech Connect 2026 - Accelerating Innovation in Health and Care Together'

  • Target audience: Clinicians of Gent University Hospital an all (post)doctoral researchers and ZAP-members from UGent, UZ Gent, VIB-UGent and imec-UGent and all researchers from the AUGent universities
  • Organisers: Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FGE) and the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (FEA)

Your connecting expertise event should meet the following conditions:

  • The aim of the event is to connect complementary experts to share knowledge on a specific interdisciplinary research topic.
    • The specific topic of the event must be related to faculty research, among others.

    • The expertise is shared via short pitches and networking opportunities, among others.
    • The event is (co-)organized by one or more members from the Faculty.
    • The event is open for all (post)doctoral researchers and ZAP-members from Ghent University, Ghent University Hospital and VIB-UGent departments.
    • The event is free.
