Online Research Day 2021

Because we want to continue to encourage sharing knowledge, including in corona times, the Research Day will be fully online on 25 March 2021. You can expect an exciting programme and, as a highlight, two keynote lectures on COVID-19.

The Research Day is an initiative of the Scientific Research Committees and the Student Councils of the Faculties of Medicine and Health Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Veterinary Medicine.

10' presentation

40 PhD students and postdoctoral researchers from the participating faculties will have the opportunity to present their research livestream in maximum 8 minutes followed by 2 minutes of questions (in English). The selected candidates can count on technical support. A moderator will introduce the session and select the online questions.

1' elevator pitch

As an Honours Programme, Master thesis or PhD student of one of the participating faculties, you can present your research by means of an elevator pitch of maximum 1 minute (pre-recorded - in English). You may use one slide.

The first 120 submitted videos will be placed on a publicly accessible online forum. The best 40 clips will be streamed during the Research Day.

Interested?

  • From December 2020, you can apply by submitting a recorded elevator pitch. Practical guidelines will follow.
  • In preparation you can follow the online BLITS session 'Pitch your research in one minute' by The Floor is Yours on 11 February 2021 (12:00-13:00). Accessible to all (student)researchers of the participating faculties.

Practical

  • Thursday 25 March 2021 from 14:00 until 17:15
  • Target group: Master thesis and Honours Programme students, (post)doctoral researchers, professors, clinicians (accreditation will be requested) and anyone interested in research in life sciences & medicine.
