Biological effects of different radiation qualities

Within this line of research, the 'Radiobiology Research Group' focuses on studying the biological effects of different radiation qualities used for radiotherapy (e.g. X-rays, neutrons, protons) and the effect of low doses of ionizing radiation used in radiation diagnostics.

Research projects

Relative Biological Efficiency (RBE)

Within this project, we investigate the relative biological effectiveness (RBE) of various X-rays used in the medical radiation sciences.

Biological effects of proton therapy

Within this project, we investigate the biological effects of proton therapy in lymphocytes and hematopoietic stem cells.

Biological effects of low dose versus high dose radiation effects

Assessment of biological effects of radiation in different patient populations
