Annick De Paepe
Role: Postdoctoral researcher
Short bio:
I am Senior Postdoctoral Researcher at the Ghent Health Psychology Lab and Assistant Professor at Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). I hold a PhD in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Statistical Data Analysis. My work aims to uncover psychosocial risk factors and mechanisms underlying chronic pain and disability. My expertise lies in constructing causal models to elucidate how these factors influence pain and disability, thereby identifying critical intervention targets. I also systematically develop and rigorously evaluate behavior change interventions, particularly through single-case experimental designs that allow detailed analysis of individual cases and temporal dynamics. My methodological expertise encompasses a broad spectrum, including construct definition, refinement of self-report measures, ecological momentary assessment, and causal inference. My work not only advances scientific understanding but also paves the way for innovative, evidence-based interventions.
