Role: Postdoctoral researcher

Short bio:

After studying Neurosciences at the University of Padova, Eleana worked as a research assistant at the Erasmus MC (Rotterdam, The Netherlands). There, she investigated corticospinal excitability and plasticity in psychiatric and healthy populations using TMS. In 2019, she started a joint-PhD on the effects of motor action on pain processing at Ghent and Maastricht University, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Stefaan Van Damme. In 2023, she worked as a postdoc at the University of Luxembourg where she studied attentional bias flexibility for pain using EEG. Currently, she is a post-doctoral researcher at Ghent University, and she is using neurophysiological approaches to examine how motor preparation processes support pain-related avoidance behavior
