Patrick Vyncke

After a bachelor in sociology, I graduated as a master in communication sciences in 1986.  Shortly after, I obtained a grant from the Research Foundation - Flanders (FWO), which enabled me to write a Ph.D. thesis on advertising planning.  Two years later, I started my career as a professor of communication management at Ghent University, where I currently teach courses on evolutionary consumer psychology, (nonverbal) interpersonal communication and critical thinking.  My research interests can be situated within those same fields, since I mainly focus on experiments investigating the impact of nonverbal interpersonal communication cues in advertising on ad-likeability scores.
