Chiara Logghe (2001) is a full-time PhD researcher at GIPLI, affiliated with the Department of Interdisciplinary Study of Law, Private Law, and Business Law at the Faculty of Law and Criminology. She received a scholarship from the Special Research Fund of Ghent University (BOF) to prepare a PhD dissertation in the area of intellectual property law.

Chiara graduated summa cum laude as a Master of Laws at Ghent University (2024). She wrote her master’s thesis in the field of private international law, investigating the worldwide (un)enforceability of the common law concept of punitive damages, which sparked her strong interest in comparative law.

As a full-time member of GIPLI, Chiara is currently preparing a PhD dissertation on damages for infringement of intellectual property rights under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Simon Geiregat. In addition to intellectual property law, she is particularly interested in comparative law, commercial and corporate law, the law of damages and the international aspects of law.
