Erinda MehmetiBio

Erinda Mehmeti studied at the high school Babë Dudë Karbunara in Berat, Albania. She obtained her Master of Laws (2012, cum laude) from Ghent University after completing a preparatory year Dutch for Speakers of Other Languages at the Language Centre of the same university. During an Erasmus exchange program she studied one year at Leiden University.

 After her university studies Erinda worked as an intern in the legal department of CER (Community of European Railway and Infrastructure Companies) in Brussels. Since May 2012 she joined the Institute for Private International Law as an academic assistant. Erinda’s mother tongue is Albanian. She also speaks fluently Dutch, English and Italian.

Research Project

 Erinda has a strong interest in the position of the weaker party in Private International Law and in particular the protection of consumers. In her Phd research she analyses the protective function that Private International Law seeks to accomplish and more specifically in the area of ​​contract law.
