At the national level, Ghent University is a founding member of OWI-Lab, Belgium’s open innovation platform for offshore wind.
OWI-Lab brings together academic, industrial, and policy stakeholders to accelerate the development, deployment, and reliability of offshore wind technologies.
As a key research and technology partner within this platform, next to Sirris and VUB, Ghent University supports the entire Belgian wind energy value chain through industry-driven R&D and innovation, helping to position Belgium as a leader in offshore wind excellence.
