Arne Lannoy, A.K.A. Zorro Fund

Arne LannoyOn December 6, 2015, Arne Lannoy died at the age of 23 after a hard and undeserved fight against a brain tumor. But he will never be forgotten! Arne was a very popular figure in his home town of Ledegem, very active and always willing to help. In 2015, he organised a fundraising event himself in aid of cancer. His family and friends have kept this tradition alive and the Ledegem festival Rock Beats Cancer has taken place every year since then. The proceeds from the festival are given to the fund.

We gratefully welcome donations to the Arne Lannoy Fund - donations can be made via bank transfer to the account number BE26 3900 9658 0329, including the message “ Arne Lanoy Fund”. Your gift is tax deductible starting from €40 per year.

In the coming months, our research will focus on exploring if we can diagnose a certain type of malignant brain tumor through an ordinary blood sample rather than a biopsy. This can play an important role in monitoring patients. We would like to convey our sincere thanks to the Arne Lannoy Fund, all employees and sponsors.

Background information

In order to support Ghent University research into brain tumors, Arne’s parents and girlfriend decided to set up a fund after his death. The fund bears his name and also his nickname from the scouts. In this way they wanted to keep Arne’s memory alive and make sure that even if he is no longer with us, Arne can keep on helping other people.

Aim

The aim of the fund is to encourage and support research into brain tumors.
