Funds 4Brain
Epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, cerebrovascular disorders, dementia and cognitive impairment are all examples of brain disease. These are becoming increasingly common and, moreover, we don’t always have sufficient medicine to treat them. This is why the research group led by Prof. Paul Boon is doing groundbreaking research into new types of treatment for these conditions. The project focuses on so-called neuromodulatory treatments that work by stimulating nerves in the brain.

Background information
Fonds 4Brain was set up in 2019 by the renowned doctor, Professor Paul Boon.
Aim
The aim of the fund is to provide financial support for research into brain diseases. Research topics related to brain disease can include, amongst others:
- epilepsy
- multiple sclerosis
- stroke (and cerebrovascular disease)
- dementia and cognitive disorders
- neuromodulatory treatments for brain disease
