Elections 9 June 2024

Certificates for students unable to vote due to study reasons Sunday, June 9, 2024.

Proxy

The Electoral Code provides that 'students who are unable to go to the polling station for study reasons' may vote by proxy. (Electoral Code, Article 147bis, §1, 6°).

In this case, you (mandate holder) must give power of attorney to another eligible voter (proxy holder) to vote in your place.

For giving power of attorney, you must follow the procedure and use the forms provided by the Belgian government (information in Dutch, French or German).

Download the proxy form from the government website, fill it out yourself as much as possible, and go to your Faculty Student Administration (FSA) or to the Registrar's Office during business hours who will complete, sign and stamp it.

If you will be abroad during the elections: fill out the proxy form as much as possible yourself, indicate as the reason 'Study: confirmation by educational institute, below' (‘Studie: bevestiging door onderwijsinstituut, hieronder’) and e-mail the completed form to your Faculty Student Administration (FSA) or your Faculty Committee for Internationalisation (FCI) who will sign and stamp it. They will return the attestation to you via e-mail.

The proxy must deliver the properly completed, signed and stamped proxy form to the chairperson of your polling station.

This form is also provided in French and German.
