Combining hydrothermal carbonization and biogas production for poultry litter valorization
This project studies flexible schemes for the valorization of poultry manure, considering the use of poultry manure leaching as pre-treatment and then conversion by Hydrothermal Carbonisation (HTC). The aqueous phase of HTC is proposed as feedstock in a high-efficiency anaerobic reactor. The possible applications of all products will then be evaluated. Finally, a life cycle assessment will be carried out to determine the most sustainable alternative.
