Faculty regulations

The highest academic degree is the doctorate degree. In order to achieve this degree an extended research programme is required. The results of this research have to be written down in a doctoral thesis. After about 4 to 6 years of preparation the doctoral thesis has to be defended through a doctoral examination (two parts, i.e. private and public defense).

During the preparation, a doctoral training programme can be followed (see Doctoral Research). Although not compulsary, the Faculty strongly recommends PhD students to follow such a programme.
