Faculty Regulations

For certain doctoral students, certain groups of doctoral students or certain doctoral titles, the doctoral training programme, or part thereof, may be imposed by the Faculty on a compulsory basis, on the understanding that the doctoral student shall be required to demonstrate they have successfully passed this part of the doctoral training programme prior to submitting the doctoral thesis to the Faculty.

  Drafted on the initiative of the Doctoral School Steering Group, the charter is based on good practice guidelines derived from a broad stakeholder consultation at Ghent University. It is in line with the prevailing Ghent University regulations and policy plans, and observes the principles included in the European Charter for Researchers (European Commission, 2005).
