About the library

The new library is the transformation of a physics practical room dating from the 19th Century.

The design by OFFICE Kersten Geers David Van Severen enables the library to be transformed into a conference room.

The library is open to the public. The open collection is freely accessible. In order to borrow books, to consult items from depot or to request scanned articles from periodicals, you must be registered in the library system.

The majority of books are architectural monographs on modern and 20th Century architects. The collection also includes items on urban planning, architectural theory and history and building techniques. The library has a subscription on a vast majority of periodicals and databases on architectural culture, on contemporary art and on building techniques as well as an important archive of historical periodicals.
The Bekaert collection has been fully integrated in the library’s collection.
