VANDENHOVE

On November 29, 2016, the art collection of architect Charles Vandenhove (1928°) was donated to the UGent, together with a building, the Vandenhove pavilion, which was designed by the architect and completed at the end of 2017. The UGent has established a Study Center (Study Center Architecture & Art - STArK), housed in the Pavilion, to organize research and education activities in the field of art and architecture, and to manage and valorize the art collection. In the building there is a lecture room, a studio, and an exhibition hall.

The activities of STArK start in 2018. In addition to a lecture program and educational activities organized with the Arts Department a program of research exhibitions will alternate with short-term initiatives and experimental installations. Exhibitions forthcoming in 2018 are: 'French painting in the Vandenhove collection', 'Variétés 1928-1930 (an art magazine)' and 'Architect Louis Roelandt: the archive'.

Directors: Bart Verschaffel (FEA), Steven Jacobs (FLW) and Wouter Davidts (FEA / FLW).
