The study day is intended as an opportunity to exchange thoughts, share experiences, and reflect on the future and possibilities for collaboration.

The Russian war against Ukraine has prompted the Slavic Studies, East European and Eurasian Studies, Russian programs to thoroughly reconsider the way the universities structure their programs and courses. CERISE, the knowledge center with a focus on Russia within the Eureast Platform, is organizing a study day for everyone involved in the teaching of Russian, Russian culture, history, politics in the Dutch-speaking area – whether through a program, a course, a part of a course, etc. 

The study day is intended as an opportunity to exchange thoughts, share experiences, and reflect on the future and possibilities for collaboration. The working language for the event will be Dutch.

Programme:

  • 10:00h – 11:15h
    • Roundtable Discussion: exploration
      Representatives from participating institutions briefly elaborate on what has been explored, discussed, changed, etc., in the field of education since February 2022 . There is time for questions from the audience and discussion.
  • 11:45h – 13:00h, 14:00h – 15:15h
    • Parallel Workshops
      Each workshop focuses on a specific educational area (language, history, culture, society, media, etc.). There is space for a minimum of four separate workshops. Each workshop starts with a couple of testimonies.  
  • 15:30h – 17:00h
    • Roundtable Discussion: Russian Studies in the Larger Context, Present, and Future
      A roundtable discussion on the study of the cultural area/region of Russia within the broader context (e.g., in relation to Ukraine, Southeast Europe, Central Europe, etc.) and disciplines (e.g., philology, cultural studies, regional studies, staff recruitment, etc.).
