Fund Alzheimer and Neurodegenerative diseases

About the fund

In 2019 a generous donor initiated the creation of the UGent Fund Alzheimer and Neurodegenerative Diseases. The core mission of this Fund is to promote research in the field of Alzheimer’s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders including frontotemporal dementia, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and rare adult-onset inherited neurodegenerative diseases.

Proof-of-concept Project for Young Investigators

One of the aims of the the UGent Fund Alzheimer and Neurodegenerative Diseases is to provide support for original research projects in the neurodegeneration field at Ghent University, University hospital Ghent (UZ Gent) and VIB-UGent.

The Fund is now launching its 1st call for proof-of-concept project grants for young postdoctoral researchers to initiate creative, potentially innovative and multidisciplinary research projects related to neurodegenerative disorders. The Fund will support young researchers with a grant between €5.000 and €15.000 during 9 months. Deadline for submission of applications is December 24th 2021.
