IPEM-CoreFacility

IPEM's lab are part of the eXtended Realities and Human Interaction Lab (XRHIL) core facility.

All IPEM's labs in the Krook are part of the XRHIL core facility.  The Extended Reality & Human Interaction Labs (XRHIL) is a set of multimodal labs that provide specialized services and expertise for performing (group) experiments, mainly focused on the humanities. The labs are equipped with XR technologies, such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), immersive and spatial audio. Synchronous methods for tracking human behavior and experience are focused on body movement (motion capture) and (neuro)physiology. XRHIL offers comprehensive support throughout the entire experiment process, including technical and methodological assistance, development and data collection. The facility also provides advanced expertise in VR/AR applications, sensor integration, real-time feedback loops, sonification and physiological measurements. These labs and services are now accessible as a Core Facility to UGent researchers and external collaborators.
