We are delighted to announce that the Medieval Studies Day 2024, with "Pe(s)ts to Parchment. Multidisciplinary Research on Animals in the Middle Ages" as title, will take place on Friday November 8th at conference centre Sint-Baafshuis in Ghent. This day is organized by the Flemish Medievalist Association, in cooperation with the Henri Pirenne Institute for Medieval Studies at Ghent University and with the support of the Dutch Research School for Medieval Studies.

Please note that registration will open for all on Monday June 17th.

Call for PhD papers

The call for contributions by PhD students is already open. PhD students in medieval studies at Flemish and Dutch universities are invited to send an abstract (max. 250 words), if they wish to present their ongoing research during the Medieval Studies Day 2024. The presentations (20 min. in English or Dutch) do not have to relate to the theme of the Medieval Studies Day, although contributions on this topic are encouraged.
