Hayley Pearce
Biography
Hayley Pearce is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Communication Sciences at Ghent University. She obtained her PhD in 2022 under the supervision of Prof. dr. Liselot Hudders, Prof. dr. Dieneke Van de Sompel and Prof. dr. Verolien Cauberghe. In her PhD, she focused on how to effectively design climate messages to encourage children’s pro-environmental behaviour intent through the use of message framing and emotions.
She is currently involved in the SUNRISE project, in collaboration with Prof. Dr. Liselot Hudders and Eline De Keyzer, where she contributes to the design and evaluation of sustainable digital interventions aimed at promoting healthy behaviours among adolescents to support the primary prevention of cancer. In addition, she teaches the course Strategic Social Communication in the third year of the Bachelor program.
