In October 2022, Stephanie started working as junior researcher at imec-mict-UGent and is affiliated with the Center for Journalism Studies (CJS). She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences (Ghent University) and a Master’s degree Journalism (Ghent University). Her master thesis investigated ‘Fact or fake? A quantitative online survey of trust in online news among Flemish young adults’. In her master year, she also did an internship at TV Oost as video journalist.

In the summer of 2021, she was a job student part of CJS and worked on a project about Journalistic Role Performance, together with Prof. dr. Sarah Van Leuven and Bart Vanhaelewyn.

Under the supervision of Prof. dr Tom Evens and dr. Kristin Van Damme, she works on projects about disinformation, deepfakes and artificial intelligence as well as on media studies.
