    Siyuan Chen about his PhD research: "Born on Different Sides of the Line: Hukou Status and Health Inequalities during the Epidemiological Transition in China"

    On 21 May 2026, Siyuan Chen successfully defended his PhD showing how China’s hukou system acts as a fundamental cause of health inequality, shaping lifelong differences in risks, prevention, and access to care despite epidemiological change.
