Sarah Devos
Status: Postdoctoral researcher
Sarah Devos is postdoctoral researcher in Health Sociology at Ghent University, working on two research projects: (1) the Flemish component of the Prevent Too project, an international collaboration investigating inequalities in the use of preventive healthcare, and (2) a research project on social mobility and loneliness in later life.
Sarah has a joint-honours BSc in Psychology and Sociology from Brunel University London, and a MSc in Global Mental Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Kings College London. She obtained her PhD in Health Sciences and Sociology, which focussed on experiences of loneliness among newly-arrived migrant adolescents in reception education, from Ghent University in 2025. Her research interests include migration, health inequalities, and health and wellbeing across the life course, and she currently co-teaches the master’s course “Sociology of Health and Illness”
