Esther Lermytte
Status: Postdoctoral researcher
Esther Lermytte is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Sociology. She obtained her PhD at Ghent University in 2025 under the supervision of Prof. dr. Piet Bracke, dr. Melissa Ceuterick, and dr. Katrijn Delaruelle. Her doctoral research explored the relational and socio-cultural dynamics underlying parental vaccine hesitancy toward childhood vaccination.
She currently coordinates the master’s course “Sociology of Health and Illness” and co-teaches in the course “Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Work and Health.” Her research interests include all aspects related to the social acceptability and accessibility of vaccination.
