About the Institute

The Tax Law Institute falls under the broader Department of Interdisciplinary Study of Law, Private Law and Business Law. It gathers all those involved in education and research related to tax law, within Ghent University's Faculty of Law and Criminology.

The Institute provides all tax law courses within the law degree program, and is also responsible for a number of tax-related courses within the Faculty of Economics and Business.

The scientific research in the department is very diverse in nature. It covers the general principles, personal income tax, corporate tax, non-resident tax, registration and inheritance taxes, as well as formal tax law within these domains. This is investigated from a local, regional, national, European and international level, with a focus on related disciplines.
