Felix (PhD in Law, 2022) is a teaching assistant at the Tax Law Institute, affiliated with the Department of Interdisciplinairy Study of Law, Private and Business Law at Ghent University.

Felix obtained his PhD in Law in 2022 with a dissertation on the impact of tax compliance obligations on the fundamental economic rights of taxpayers and third parties. His doctoral research was awarded the European Doctoral Tax Thesis Award, granted by the European Association of Tax Law Professors (EATLP) and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs Union (DG TAXUD). During his doctorate, Felix supported the practical teaching activities at the Tax Law Institute.

Following his doctorate, Felix continued his affiliation as a voluntary research associate and teaching assistant. His research focuses on international and European tax law, with particular emphasis on information exchange and the intersection of fundamental rights and taxation. Additionally, he investigates the financial regulatory framework concerning anti-money laundering.

Felix previously worked as a tax advisor, specializing in wealth taxation and tax matters within the financial and insurance sectors. He currently serves as an advisor in the tax and financial policy unit of the cabinet of the Minister of Finance and Pensions.
