Felix Desmyttere wins the prestigious "European Doctoral Tax Thesis Award"

On Saturday, June 9, 2023, at the Université de Luxembourg, the "European Doctoral Tax Thesis Award" was awarded to Dr. Felix Desmyttere. 

The award is a joint venture between the European Association of Tax Law Professors and the European Commission (Directorate-General Taxation and Customs Union).
With the initiative, the awarding bodies wish to support academic research with a European and tax component.

The awarded PhD, prepared under the promotership of Prof. Mark Delanote, was defended at Ghent University on December 14, 2022. The research examines from a fundamental rights perspective the limits governments should consider when requiring taxpayers and third parties to bear "compliance costs" to implement tax legislation.
