Team CRNCH wins the public prize at the Food At Work Ecotrophelia Awards 2023!

(27-04-2023) On April 26th, the finals of the 2023 Food At Work Ecotrophelia Awards took place in Technopolis. Two teams of students from the MSc in bioscience engineering – food science and nutrition, joined in this food innovation competition.

Team ‘CRNCH’ went home with the public prize with their savory, crunchy and protein-rich topping containing seaweed and walnut pulp, a waste stream from walnut oil production.

Team ‘Oah My Pancakes’, who developed delicious vegan sweet pancakes based on oat drink and pea protein isolate, just missed the jury awards, but they did got as only team a honorary mention from the jury. Both teams developed their food product concept in the framework of the course unit ‘Product innovation in the food industry’. Congratulations to both student teams for this big achievement!
